My name is Marko Lindqvist. Plan for this site is to share my thought around software development, business development and leadership from many different aspects. Or any other topic that I feel that I have something to share. This will be also challenge for myself because it is always challenge for me to get my thought on paper in format that it is understandable for anyone.
Past 10 years in software development I have worked in many different roles in many different project with many different teams. I have always been interested in complex problems and how we can simplify those. That might be one of the reasons why I have moved from software developer role to architecture. Past 3 year I have been working as enterprise architect for frontline solutions for If insurance company.
Some years ago I read Simon Sineks book start with why. From then I have rephrased my why few times. What gets me passionated is to work with others and find ways how we can reach our goals in best possible way. This is also why I’m waking up every day. From this my current version of why is “I get people through hard times to achieve hard goals”.
In past 6 years I have mainly worked with development teams who is using agile methodologies. I like to work with agile teams and also be part of team where agile development is taken in use. Starting agile development with new team who have not worked with agile methodologies is always heavy. Agile methodologies can be used in business and IT development. Even these development processes should not be separated but it is quite common in enterprise development that there will be always some level of separation in business and IT development. What agile means for me is constant improvement and learning. This is also reason why I think that most important part of agile development is frequent retrospecting and improving current ways of working. Grooming and clear visibility what team is working on is things that I keeps as extremely important thing to make agile development working. More on agile ways of working in upcoming articles.
